This week, we finished learning how to write all the letters in the Hebrew alphabet! Congratulations to all of the first graders on this wonderful accomplishment!
Now that we can write all of the letters, we will continue to practice writing in Hebrew throughout the year. We also continued our unit on Nighttime Routines and discussed how we and our friends get home from school. Transportation words that we learned this week can be found under "vocabulary" in the Additional Resources section.

For the past two weeks, first graders have been working hard on learning the Hebrew alphabet. We are learning how to recognize, write, and sound out the different letters in the Hebrew alphabet. We are also learning words that begin with each letter. Here is a list of the new letters and words we learned in the past two weeks. First graders also started their new unit "Night Routines". Students discussed what they eat for dinner and what they do before they go to bed. Vocabulary from this unit can be found in Additional Resources. Songs related to this unit can also be found under "Songs for 1st Grade" in the Additional Resources section.
This week we practiced writing the first four letters of the Hebrew alphabet and words that begin with those letters. Here is a list of some of those words:
This week we also reviewed the Morning Routines unit from last year so that next week we can begin our unit on Evening and Night Routines. Below are some photos of our hard work this week. In the pictures below, we are practicing Hebrew letters. |
